Who to contact
The Ponytail Guide editorial team maintains this website. For privacy questions or requests concerning information you sent us, email [email protected]. Identify the request without sending credentials or unnecessary sensitive data.
Optional analytics and your choice
The site offers a choice before loading Google Analytics 4. Rejecting analytics keeps the Google analytics script and measurement requests disabled. Necessary site reading, navigation, and command copying remain available.
If you allow analytics, GA4 can receive page views and limited predefined interaction events, such as opening an official resource or copying an installation command. Event fields are restricted to fixed site information such as page path, platform, method, locale, command identifier, and success status. We do not send command contents, clipboard contents, user code, file paths, API keys, tool inputs, or free text as analytics event properties.
The site does not provide a repository upload or online code-analysis service. We do not use the guide's analytics to collect a task you are performing in your IDE. Google processes analytics under its own service terms and Privacy Policy; its partner-site explanation describes data Google may receive when its services are used.
Reject, allow, withdraw, or allow again
Your analytics preference is saved in this browser's localStorage so it can be remembered on later visits. It is not an account profile. The site synchronizes changes between open tabs on the same origin; different browsers, profiles, or devices keep their own preferences.
Use the Analytics choices control in the footer to review the preference. Withdrawing consent stops subsequent analytics transmission and removes accessible GA cookies for this site. It does not undo information already sent while you had allowed analytics. You may allow analytics again later. A new page load may be used to ensure the selected loading state takes effect consistently.
Clearing site storage removes the saved choice, so the site will ask again. If browser storage is unavailable, the site should continue to function without assuming you consented.
Hosting and ordinary web requests
Cloudflare delivers the website and its static assets. Normal requests necessarily expose technical information to the network and hosting provider, such as an IP address, requested resource, user agent, time, and request or security metadata. These operational records are separate from optional GA4 measurement and may be processed for delivery, reliability, and abuse prevention under the provider's policies.
We do not describe opting out of analytics as preventing all network logs. This publication does not operate a user-account database or a server that receives code for analysis. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for its processing information.
Email contact and retention
If you email us, your email provider and our receiving mail service process the message and associated technical details. We use your address, message, and any information you voluntarily include to handle the inquiry and related follow-up. Do not include private source code or sensitive personal information.
We retain correspondence as needed to address the matter, maintain a correction record, or meet applicable obligations. We do not promise a fixed deletion period that has not been established. You can request deletion of correspondence we control; we will assess the request and explain any necessary limitation.
External links and policy changes
Opening GitHub, a host's documentation, the upstream website, or an email application involves another service and its own policies. Those services are not governed by this site's analytics setting.
This policy is reviewed when the site's actual data handling changes. The effective date above identifies this version. Contact us if a description does not match the behavior you observe.
